Borussia Dortmund show interest in Manchester City’s Cole Palmer

As reported by Bild, Borussia Dortmund have shown an interest in Manchester City youngster Cole Palmer.

BVB have a history of taking young English talents, giving them game time, and turning them into great all-around players. Jaden Sancho and Jude Bellingham being the two prime examples.

It now appears Dortmund may have similar plans for England U21 international Palmer. BVB had the attacking midfielder on their wishlist last season but feel they have a better chance of signing him this summer. Currently, Palmer is contracted with City until 2026 and has a market value of around €15m.

As expected, Palmer is only playing a minor role in Pep Guardiola’s side. Last season, the player featured in 25 matches across all competitions and was only on the pitch for a total of 850 minutes.

With the sale of Jude Bellingham, Dortmund are looking to bring in the defensive-minded Edson Álvarez plus further recruits. Palmer would fit the bill for a more attack-minded midfielder.
