Inter Milan ready to make Borussia Dortmund offer for Manuel Akanji

According to Bild, Italian side Inter Milan are ready to make Borussia Dortmund an offer for central-defender Manuel Akanji as they search the market for a Milan Škriniar replacement.

Although an official offer is yet to arrive, per the report, Inter are ready to offer up to €30m for Swiss defender Akanji, who is entering the final year of his contract.

Inter also face competition from Arsenal, Manchester United, Juventus and Milan for Akanji but they’re in pole position.

BVB would also allow Akanji to leave this summer following the defensive signings of Niklas Süle and Nico Schlotterbeck, who will provide competitions for Mats Hummels.

A contract extension for Akanji is also off the table.

The Switzerland international has played 155 games for Borussia Dortmund since his move from FC Basel in 2018 for €21.5m.

Elsewhere in BVB’s squad, they could use the fee from this sale to fund a move for Hoffenheim left-back David Raum, but that’s only possible should they sell one of two current left-backs in Nico Schulz or Raphaël Guerreiro.
