Hoffenheim set asking price for Borussia Dortmund target David Raum

A left-back is on the agenda for Borussia Dortmund this summer but they must sell one of Nico Schulz or Raphaël Guerreiro before signing a new one, according to Kicker.

One candidate for BVB is Hoffenheim’s Raum. The 24-year-old is arguably Hansi Flick’s first choice for the left-back position in the Germany squad after an outstanding first season in Sinsheim.

Raum has a contract until 2026 and doesn’t have an exit clause until 2023. A fee close to €40m would be enough to tempt Hoffenheim into selling Raum but so far, they’ve received no offers for the German.

Speaking in May about a possible change, Raum told Sport1: “Of course I would have liked to play internationally with Hoffenheim. That unfortunately did not work. It’s still a dream for me.”

Premier League side Manchester City have also enquired about signing Raum, who played 35 games in all competitions last season after joining the club on a free transfer from Greuther Fürth, registering 13 assists.

Per the report, Schulz is the designated candidate for a BVB departure but Guerreiro could also leave as he enters the final year of his contract. The Portugal international is likely to generate more interest on the market despite a disappointing season.
