Julian Nagelsmann: “Another big German club wanted me three times.”

Speaking to Einfach mal Luppen podcast, hosted by Toni and Felix Kroos, Bayern Munich head coach Julian Nagelsmann has revealed that another big German team wanted to bring the tactician to the club.

“Back then I had the option of going to clubs that were a higher level than Leipzig,” said Nagelsmann. “But I didn’t see that as healthy, I wanted to take an intermediate step where I can learn something.

“I had a similar situation once with another big German club that wanted me three times. It didn’t work because of different issues. The third time I said ‘Now I don’t want to anymore, we’ll wait a little longer’. Then it didn’t work again.”

Nagelsmann didn’t mention the club, but Borussia Dortmund did have an interest in bringing the German to the club in 2018.
