Bundesliga outfit Ausgburg have announced the signing of Luzern midfielder Ruben Vargas for an undisclosed fee believed to be €2.5m.
The 20-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the Bundesliga club and becomes their third signing of the summer after Florian Niederlechner and Marvin Friedrich.
“In Ruben Vargas, we’ve succeeded in signing a big Swiss talent, whom other European clubs were also interested in signing. Ruben developed brilliantly in Lucerne and is now ready to take the next step. We’re certain that he will greatly strengthen our squad,” said sporting director Stefan Reuter.
