‘I think I’m a good fit’ – Tom Bischof on Jürgen Klopp’s Germany

After making his Germany debut in June 2025, Tom Bischof had to wait over a year for his second cap. Under Jürgen Klopp, the Bayern Munich man repaid the faith shown in him by opening the scoring against Serbia on Thursday night, as the national team secured a 2-0 victory at the Allianz Arena.

When asked how he fits into Klopp’s style of play, Bischof said: “I think I’m a good fit. We do that at Bayern too: we run a lot, we do a lot of counter-pressing and we give it our all. That’s exactly what he wants. I’m trying to show it on the pitch.”

Additionally, he earned praise from Liverpool’s Florian Wirtz, who assisted Bischof. “I liked his performance a lot,” he said. “I had a lot of fun playing alongside him. He’s very smart in the way he moves into the space, and is very good on the ball. He’s simply a very good player.”
