VfB Stuttgart submit a second bid for Alexander Nübel

Sky Germany reports that VfB Stuttgart have submitted a second improved bid for Bayern Munich goalkeeper Alexander Nübel.

Stuttgart still aims to take the goalkeeper on loan and previously had an offer of a €500k loan fee rejected. VfB have now doubled their offer to €1m. Nübel is open to a move to the Bundesliga side and is ready to join immediately.

Bayern must now decide whether they reject this offer as it has previously been reported that they would prefer to sell Nübel instead of loaning him out once again. Since joining from Schalke on a free transfer in 2020, Nübel has only spent one season as a backup to Manuel Neuer before spending two years on loan at Monaco.

Once Stuttgart has Nübel in their ranks, they have developed a plan that will be put in place for a successor once his loan expires. Fabian Bredlow will remain as backup goalkeeper after his stint as number one last season, while Stuttgart will promote 17-year-old Dennis Seimen from the club’s under-19s. The aim is to make Seiman the club’s main goalkeeper within the next two years.
