VfB Stuttgart rejected €15m bid from Inter Milan for Konstantinos Mavropanos

This winter, VfB Stuttgart rejected a bid of €15m from Inter Milan for Konstantinos Mavropanos, Bild has reported.

The 25-year-old central defender is making quite the name for himself in the Bundesliga. It’s previously been reported that teams such as Atlético de Madrid and fellow Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg are interested in the Greek international.

However, it’s being reported that Italian side Inter Milan already placed a lavish offer for the defender but were turned down. The Serie A side see Mavropanos as the ideal replacement for Milan Škriniar, who will move to PSG this summer on a free transfer.

Mavropanos’ contract runs until 2025 but it’s likely that he could be on the move this summer. Stuttgart understands that the defender could bring in some much-needed funds for the following season. What’s more, should the club face relegation, Mavropanos would certainly be one of those on their way out.

In January, Mavropanos was open to a move in order to take the next step in his career.
