Hertha Berlin hope to make €20 million from sales this summer

Hertha Berlin are planning a mass exodus of players this summer and hope for €20 million from their sales, reports Bild

Santiago Ascacibar has impressed on his loan spell at Estudiantes in Argentina. It is reported that there is a €3 million buy option in the 25-year-old’s loan agreement. Ascacibar was bought for €10 million back in 2019 from VfB Stuttgart and made 53 appearances during his time in Berlin.

Other players that Hertha hope to sell are Krzysztof Piatek who has a €9 million buy option with Salernitana in Italy and Omar Alderete who has a €7.5 million buy option with Getafe in Spain. However, both of these players are fighting relegation with their teams, so Hertha may not receive the fees if the teams do get relegated.

In France, Myziane Maolida has impressed with Reims and in his loan agreement, there is a low buy option. Deyovaisio Zeefuik who is currently on loan at Hellas Verona in Italy also has a low buy option.

However, it will prove more difficult to sell the likes of Alexander Schwolow who is on loan at Schalke and Zeefuik as they are both second choices at their clubs.

For Hertha it is important that they survive relegation as they currently sit 17th in the Bundesliga. If they fail, then some of these players will be able to leave for even cheaper fees.
