Borussia Dortmund and Daichi Kamada hold secret meeting

Sport1 are reporting that Borussia Dortmund held a secret meeting with Daichi Kamada’s representatives over a free transfer in the summer.

Present at the meeting were Sebastian Kehl and consultants Roberto Tukada and Thomas Kroth. It is reported that in the meeting Dortmund repeated their desire for Kamada to join Dortmund on a free transfer in the summer and have already began talking about concrete figures with the 26-year-old’s representatives.

With Mo Dahoud leaving Dortmund at the end of the season, and the future of Jude Bellingham unknown, Dortmund need midfield reinforcements which Kamada will be able to provide.

Dortmund are not the only club interested in Kamada. Benfica have reignited their interest in the Japan international after they had already agreed a deal with Kamada last summer only for the deal to fall through. Dortmund however have the upper hand on Benfica.

It is very unlikely that Kamada will sign a contract extension at Eintracht Frankfurt and he will end his time there in the summer. The 26-year-old is having his best season ever at Frankfurt with 13 goals and five assists in 30 games this season.
