Uli Hoeneß comments on Bayern Munich and Harry Kane transfer rumour

Speaking to the media during Bayern Munich’s training camp in Tegernsee, Uli Hoeneß spoke on the transfer rumours surrounding Bayern Munich and Harry Kane.

When asked about a move for Harry Kane, Hoeneß said: “Harry has so far signalled very clearly in all conversations that his decision has been made. And if he keeps his word, we’ll get him – Because then Tottenham will have to give in because it’s not possible such a club can do without 80, 90 million, or how much it may be. He wants to play in Europe and Tottenham, luckily for us, won’t be there next year, unlike our club.” Hoeneß added: “Harry now has another chance to join a top European club. What we really liked is that he, his agents, the father and the brother,  are quite pleasant people. They have always stood by their promise. And if that stays the case, then that’s okay.”

Hoeneß also commented on the negotiating with Tottenham for the sale of the striker: “…I don’t speak to Levy either, Jan- Christian Dreesen does that. He is clever, he didn’t name a number. First, we have to get him to name a number. Of course, he’s playing for time, he’s super professional and I appreciate him very much. But on the other hand, Bayern are also not people who have been doing this since yesterday.”

Recently it was reported that Bayern have held talks with Tottenham to negotiate a transfer fee for Kane. Bayern’s first offer which was valued around €70m, was immediately rejected by Tottenham

Sky Germany have reported that Bayern believe that they can get the deal done within the next 2-3 weeks, which means Kane will not be a part of their tour of Asia this summer. If Bayern fail to sign Kane this summer then their plan B is to sign the striker on a free transfer next summer if he does not extend his contract at Tottenham, as his current deal expires in 2024.
