Tottenham and Bayern Munich hold further talks over Harry Kane

As reported by Bild, on Thursday a ‘secret meeting’ was conducted in London between Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy and the bosses of Bayern Munich. The only topic discussed was the future of England captain Harry Kane.

While there was no breakthrough regarding a future transfer, the Bayern bosses are confident that a deal will be struck this summer to finalise the signing of Die Rekordmeister’s number one target. However, the fee will have to be considerably higher than the €70m offer that was immediately rejected by Levy.

However, Tottenham are still hoping to persuade Kane to remain in London for the foreseeable future. Tottenham’s new head coach Ange Postecoglou would comment before the secret meeting: “I want him to be there. My conversation with him will be about how we can make this club successful again. I have no doubt that he wants that too. I want to introduce myself and I want to know what he wants for this club to be successful.”

For Bayern, this meeting was significantly important in order to show respect towards Levy and Tottenham which could be the difference in ensuring the deal gets over the line. Kane was informed of the talks, and it has put the record champions in a far better position with the transfer heading in the right direction.
