Official | Angeliño signs for Galatasaray on a season-long loan

RB Leipzig have announced the departure of Angeliño on a season-long loan to Galatasaray. As part of the deal, the Turkish record champions will have an obligation to buy the Spanish defender at the end of the season.

Galatasaray have confirmed that Leipzig will earn an initial €1.5m as part of the loan deal. However, with an obligation for Galatasaray to make the deal permanent at the end of the season, the full purchase price will mean that the Saxons receive a further €6m.

During the Spaniards’ four-year spell in Germany, he has represented both Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig, displaying his phenomenal attacking output predominantly from left-wingback. In 101 Bundesliga appearances, Angeliño scored seven goals and collected 23 assists with his most prolific season coming last campaign at Hoffenheim where he managed a total of ten league assists.

For Leipzig, the departure of Angeliño, as well as the possible outgoing of Marcel Halstenberg, has left David Raum as the sole left-sided wingback in the Leipzig squad. While there has been a mass exodus of talent this summer for the Saxons and signings are proving to be difficult to complete, Marco Rose has insisted he relaxed over the situation
