Talks between Bayern Munich and representatives of Raphaël Guerreiro took place

Bayern Munich held discussions with representatives of Raphaël Guerreiro in recent weeks, according to Sky Germany, with the Portugal international leaving Borussia Dortmund when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Guerreiro is a target for Bayern Munich but with a new recruitment team, which includes Uli Hoeneß, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Jan-Christian Dreesen, Tuchel, CFO Dr. Michael Diederich, following the dismissal of Hasan Salihamidžić and Oliver Kahn, it’s unclear as to how the Rekordmeister will proceed from here.

Guerreiro announced, via Instagram, that he would be leaving Borussia Dortmund when his contract expires after seven years at the Bundesliga club. The 29-year-old defender reportedly turned down a new two-year contract at BVB as he wants to pursue a new challenge. As well as Bayern, Atletico Madrid have also shown interest.

With 12 assists in the Bundesliga, Guerreiro finished as the leading creator in the league this season.

Before Bayern Munich make a decision on whether or not they want to pursue Guerreiro, the club’s new transfer team will hold a meeting with Thomas Tuchel to discuss transfer targets, with West Ham’s Declan Rice also at the forefront of their plans with Bayern expecting to intensify their efforts to sign the England international.
