Sheraldo Becker attracts interest from the Premier League

Sky Germany reports that Union Berlin attacker Sheraldo Becker is attracting interest from a host of Premier League clubs.

West Ham United, Fulham and Burnley are all pushing to sign the 28-year-old, who is open to a move to England. His current contract at Union expires next summer so any transfer could cost between €15-€20m. Becker joined Union in 2019 on a free transfer from ADO Den Haag.

Becker has been key in Union’s push for Champions League football. In the league, he has scored 11 and assisted seven as Union currently sits fourth in the Bundesliga, one win away from Champions League football.

The draw of playing Champions League football next season with Union could convince Becker to stay but that would then mean the club are forced into a tricky situation where they may need to sell the Suriname international in January, or risk losing him on a free the next summer.

Union have shown that they can adequately replace players. Last summer, they lost Taiwo Awoniyi to Nottingham Forest for 20.5m but were able to replace the Nigerian with Jordan from Young Boys for €6m.
