Predicted Borussia Dortmund XI vs Hoffenheim: Donyell Malen to start in place of Karim Adeyemi

Borussia Dortmund face Hoffenheim on Saturday afternoon as they look to maintain their 100 percent record in 2023. With eight successive wins across all competitions, BVB have the opportunity to lead the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich hosting Union Berlin on Sunday.

After sustaining an injury against Hertha Berlin last weekend, Borussia Dortmund will be without Karim Adeyemi for around three weeks. This gives Edin Terzic two options on the left-flank. Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, who has two goal contributions in his last three games, could start in place of Adeyemi. Another option would be Donyell Malen. Terzic has already suggested that he will provide competition for Sébastien Haller in the absence of Youssoufa Moukoko, but he now may be called upon to play on the left.

Defensively, don’t expect too much to change. Expect Nikas Süle to come back in for Mats Hummels, Raphaël Guerreiro is also expected to return to the starting XI with Julian Ryerson missing, according to Ruhr Nachrichten.

January arrival Julien Duranville (16) won’t be fit for this game, but the young Belgian is expected to start team training with Borussia Dortmund next week.

Predicted Borussia Dortmund XI vs Hoffenheim

Gregor Kobel – Marius Wolf, Niklas Süle, Nico Schlotterbeck, Raphaël Guerreiro – Emre Can, Jude Bellingham – Julian Brandt, Marco Reus, Donyell Malen – Sébastien Haller.
