Karim Adeyemi sidelined for several weeks following injury

Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that Karim Adeyemi will be missing for up to three weeks, following an injury sustained in a 4-1 win against Hertha Berlin last Sunday.

Having opened the scoring on Sunday, Adeyemi sustained his injury when he assisted the second goal after a speedy run and cross for Donyell Malen. Just as the 21-year-old crossed the ball, he fell to the floor holding his leg. Immediately, everyone knew something was wrong.

The official diagnosis is a pulled muscle fibre in the left hamstring.

This will mean that Adeyemi will miss TSG Hoffenheim (February 25th), RB Leipzig (March 3rd) and the Champions League second leg against Chelsea (March 7th).

It’s a devastating blow both for the player and BVB. The club has been plagued with injuries this year and just as Adeyemi was finally finding his feet and contributing immensely in matches, he will have to sit out for a few weeks.
