Predicted Borussia Dortmund XI vs Borussia Mönchengladbach

Borussia Dortmund host Borussia Mönchengladbach at the Signal Iduna Park on Saturday afternoon in what feels like a must-win game for Edin Terzić with Die Schwarzgelben already 10 points adrift of leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

One player that Dortmund will be without for the remainder of 2023 is Felix Nmecha. Terzić confirmed that the 23-year-old would not be used for the rest of the calendar year and will instead regenerate with a view to the player returning in early January. One positive is that Terzić did confirm that Nmecha wouldn’t need to undergo surgery on his hip.

That paves the way for Emre Can and Marcel Sabitzer to start in a double-pivot but Salih Özcan, who impressed in Sabitzer’s absence, is also a possibility in midfield.

Bundesliga Predictions | Round 12

Karim Adeyemi started on the previous matchday and after turning down a call-up to the Germany U21 squad, which received backlash, could again feature from the start. The 21-year-old, who is yet to score this season in 545 minutes of football, is hoping to reignite his club form which was his reasoning behind turning down a call-up, which frustrated those at the DFB.

Julian Brandt has been Dortmund’s best player in the final third and is also expected to start, but Marco Reus also remains a possible option depending on the fitness of those that represented their country in the latest international break.

Terzić also has several options from the bench with Gio Reyna, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Youssoufa Moukoko and Sébastien Haller.
