Noussair Mazraoui to miss 4-6 weeks from complications to due COVID

As reported by Bild, Noussair Mazraoui will miss 4-6 weeks for Bayern Munich as he suffered from a heart sac inflammation from a COVID-19 infection he contracted on vacation in Morocco.

Mazraoui had blood tests in the past few days and has been advised to rest and not participate in any physical activity. After the rest period, further tests will be carried out on the 25-year-old to see if he can resume training. Bayern are being more precautious after Alphonso Davies also suffered from a heart inflammation and missed three months last season.

The right-back’s health concerns accelerated the signing of Daley Blind. Mazraoui will miss Bayern’s winter training camp in Qatar as well as the opening weeks of the season.

Mazraoui struggled for playing time at the World Cup due to an injury, missing out on Morocco’s game against Portugal, and Croatia and being subbed off at half-time in the semi-final against France.
