Liverpool amongst clubs interested in Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Manu Koné

According to Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich and Liverpool are some of the clubs interested in Manu Koné.

The list of clubs mentioned includes Bayern Munich, Newcastle, PSG and Liverpool. However, with Liverpool, Jude Bellingham still remains their number one priority. A transfer in the summer is likely with Borussia Mönchengladnach, Koné, and his agent all in harmony with that outcome.

The 21-year-old has a contract at Gladbach until 2025 with an option for a further year. The fee for Koné will likely surpass the fee Gladbach received for Granit Xhaka in 2016 which was €45m.

Koné joined Gladbach from Toulouse in 2021 for €9m and has been an instant hit under both Adi Hütter and more recently Daniel Farke where he has been able to be more adventurous playing next to the likes of Julian Weigl or Christoph Kramer.

Gladbach sit eighth in the Bundesliga. They started strongly in the league but just before the World Cup break, they began to fade out, winning three of their last nine games.
