Bild reports that Felix Nmecha is set to have his medical today ahead of his move to Borussia Dortmund.
Once his medical is complete, Nmecha will sign a contract at Dortmund until 2028. The fee for the 22-year-old is more expensive than Dortmund had hoped with Nmecha costing €30m.
This transfer will not be the last of the summer for Dortmund as they are expected to bring in at least another midfielder as well as another full-back. Die Schwarzegelben’s only transfer this summer has been the arrival of Ramy Bensebaini on a free transfer from Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Dortmund manager Edin Terzic viewed Nmecha as his main transfer target and convinced the midfielder to join the club. Manchester United and Newcastle had also previously shown interest in the 22-year-old.
Nmecha’s move is not supported by many Dortmund fans due to the fact that he has previously posted homophobic and transphobic content on his Instagram. The 22-year-old has previously held meetings with Terzic as well as management at the club to reiterate the fact he will be aligned with Dortmund’s views.
