Deniz Undav on the radar of Julian Nagelsmann for March international call-up

After continuing his good form against Werder Bremen on Saturday, Deniz Undav now has the potential to receive an international call-up to Germany in the next international break, reports Sky Germany.

If the 27-year-old continues his form from now until the March international break, then Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann will plan to call up Undav in March. The Germany head coach has already made contact with the VfB Stuttgart striker.

However, Undav is also eligible to represent Turkey internationally so if Germany continues to postpone a call-up for the striker then he could decide to switch.

Since joining Stuttgart on loan in the summer, Undav has played 11 times for the club scoring nine and assisting once. Originally, Undav was meant to be a backup for Sehrou Guirassy but due to the form of both strikers, Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeneß has been forced to play both of them as a striking duo, which worked against Bremen.

Stuttgart currently do have a buy option in Undav’s loan agreement which is worth around €12m but they can only afford it if they qualify for the Champions League, which is slowly becoming a possibility.
