Dayot Upamecano sidelined for two weeks

Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano (24) has been ruled out for two weeks after suffering a muscle strain during training, which rules him out of the games against Hertha Berlin and Werder Bremen.

Thomas Tuchel confirmed the news speaking ahead of Bayern Munich’s game against Hertha on Sunday. He also added that Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is out whilst Leon Goretzka has a bruise on his knee, but should be available and Kingsley Coman, who didn’t train on Friday, is still an option to feature.

Alphonso Davies is also out with a hamstring strain that he picked up against Mainz last weekend, which means that Benjamin Pavard is likely to partner Matthijs de Ligt in central-defence with Josip Stanišić and João Cancelo operating at full-back.

With Borussia Dortmund playing Bochum on Friday night, Bayern could find themselves four points behind leaders BVB by the time they play Hertha on Sunday.
