With Jude Bellingham now gone, Borussia Dortmund want to sign two central-midfielders.
According to Sky Germany, these are Wolfsburg’s Felix Nmecha and Ajax’s Edson Álvarez. Bellingham (19) joined Real Madrid last week for an initial €103m, and now the Bundesliga side are working on replacing the England international.
It was reported earlier this month that Dortmund had submitted their interest in signing Nmecha, but they face competition from Manchester United and the Red Devils have already held talks with Nmecha’s representatives – the player has just one year remaining on his current deal and could leave Wolfsburg for as little as €15m.
Dortmund are also working on a deal to sign Álvarez. Last week, they submitted their opening offer to the Mexican, who is open to joining the Bundesliga club. Representatives of Álvarez are expected to submit a counter offer before reaching an agreement with the player wanting to play for BVB.
All that remains is for Dortmund to find an agreement with Ajax, who want between €40m and €45m, higher than BVB’s valuation of the player.
