Bayern Munich monitoring Niclas Füllkrug situation

Bayern Munich are monitoring Niclas Füllkrug’s situation at Werder Bremen, according to Florian Plettenberg

The German international is in the form of his life. Not only that but he was the joint Bundesliga top goalscorer last season. It’s incredible to think that there isn’t more transfer news surrounding Füllkrug.

However, that could now change. Bayern are in need of a striker this summer. They’ve been linked with various forwards already, none more so than Randal Kolo Muani from Eintracht Frankfurt. The Eagles have demanded at least €100m for the Frenchman which could put Bayern off unless there is room for negotiations.

In comparison, Bayern could snatch Füllkrug’s for just over €20m. Bremen have plans to extend the striker’s contract but know that an offer over the 20 million mark would be very hard to reject.

Füllkrug is a traditional number nine, someone who can hold the ball up, bring others into play and knows where the goal is. This is something that Bayern have lacked since selling Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona last summer. For just over €20m, they could get a top German international in the form of his life.
