Christopher Nkunku ‘can imagine’ staying at RB Leipzig

Christopher Nkunku (28) has struck four goals and provided two assists in eight appearances across all competitions since returning to RB Leipzig on loan from Serie A outfit Milan.

Gearing up ahead of Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League clash against Real Madrid, the Frenchman stated that he could imagine staying at the Saxony club beyond his current loan, which expires in June 2027.

“I’m very happy,” Nkunku told Sport Bild. “I feel very comfortable in the city and at the club. Of course, I can very well imagine staying longer.”

During his first spell at Leipzig between 2019 and 2023, the Frenchman registered 47 goals and 43 assists in 119 Bundesliga appearances before departing for Chelsea.

“I had some very significant moments in my career and my life in Leipzig and with RB,” he explained. “I really enjoyed those four years. But, above all, the clubs would have to reach an agreement at the end of the season, so it’s not just up to me.”
