Bayern Munich are in positive discussions with the entourage of Napoli’s Kim Min-jae (26), according to Kicker, who further add that there could be an agreement on personal terms in a timely manner.
Kim, who was named the Serie A’s best defender last season, has a reported release clause of around €50m which becomes active on July 1. Fabrizio Romano further reports that the South Korean will sign a five-year contract with Bayern Munich with the deal at the final stages.
Manchester United had also shown an interest in signing Kim – who is currently completing his mandatory basic military training – but as reported via our colleagues at Get Italian Football News, their interest hasn’t developed.
Kim’s arrival at Bayern Munich would allow Lucas Hernandez to leave the club. The Frenchman has an offer from PSG with the Ligue 1 champions preparing to submit an opening offer to Bayern. In a private meeting at Bayern’s Säbener Straße, Hernandez stated his desire to leave after hearing upon PSG’s interest.
Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard is also a candidate to leave the club this summer. The Frenchman’s unwillingness to sign a contract extension beyond 2024 means that Bayern would have to sell for a fee this summer, or risk losing the defender on a free transfer next year.
