Rangers will have to pay more than €6m to sign Bayern Munich’s Malik Tillman

Rangers will have to pay more than €6m to sign American Malik Tillman on a permanent basis, according to Kicker. This comes after Bayern Munich cancelled the previously agreed purchase option.

The 21-year-old suffered a serious thigh injury in the closing stages of the season and returned to Munich to complete his rehabilitation. Born in Nürnberg but opting to play for the USA, Tillman is a homegrown talent but Bayern Munich would be open to allowing the attacker to leave on a permanent basis if they receive a suitable offer.

Tillman scored 12 and created five in 43 games across all competitions for Rangers last season. Michael Beale has publicly stated his interest in signing Tillman but according to Kicker’s report, another option would be to allow the player to leave on an initial loan again.

Per the report, Tillman could yet end up back at Rangers for the 2023/24 season.
