As reported by Sport Bild, Arsenal are considering a move for Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong.
The English side have shown an interest in luring an attack-minded right-back to the Emirates Stadium this summer. Reports have linked former Bayern Munich loanee João Cancelo and versatile RB Leipzig defender Benjamin Henrichs to Arsenal over the last few days.
With Mikel Arteta setting his sights on the 2023/24 Premier League title, he is hoping to add a different dynamic to his team. Current right-back Ben White offers the Gunners a more defensive approach compared to the likes of Frimpong, and a possible €40m offer is being discussed by the London-based side.
Last season Frimpong featured 48 times for Die Werkself, scoring nine goals while collecting 11 assists. A total of 20 goal contributions in all competitions was the best return from any right-back in Europe’s top five leagues.
As well as this, Frimpong was one of the fastest players in the Bundesliga last campaign With a total top speed of over 36 km/h. He would certainly be a welcomed addition at the Emirates Stadium, with a phenomenal combination of speed and end product making him one of the Bundesliga’s most feared players.
As for Leverkusen, they have prepared for the sale of the 22-year-old, with the signing of 20-year-old Brazilian Arthur from America Mineiro for €7m.
