Uli Hoeneß on Bayern Munich: “There’s not enough friction.”

Speaking to ServusTV, former Bayern Munich President Uli Hoeneß questioned the climate within the Bayern squad following their 4-2 defeat to Bochum on Saturday.

“I think the problem at the moment is that when our players read newspapers, they always hear that they are superior and nobody can beat them. The atmosphere is very good, maybe even too good. There’s not enough friction,” said Hoeneß. “Defeats bother me, but as long as we’re six points ahead in the league, it’s OK. Our players always seem to be a bit careless against weaker opponents but that won’t happen against Salzburg.”

Bayern Munich face RB Salzburg in the Last 16 of the Champions League on Wednesday.
