RB Leipzig in advanced negotiations to sign David Raum

As reported by Fabrizio Romano on Thursday night, RB Leipzig are in advanced talks to sign Germany international David Raum (24) from Hoffenheim.

Negotiations between the two clubs are advanced. Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg and Philipp Hinze further add that Leipzig are expected to pay between €30m and €35m for the left-back, who also had interest from Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund – a deal is expected to be finalised soon.

Raum also had interest from Premier League trio Manchester United, West Ham and Newcastle United, but RB Leipzig appear to have leapfrogged several clubs to secure the German left-back.

Raum arrived from Greuther Fürth on a free transfer last summer and has a contract with Hoffenheim until 2026 – In his first season at the Sinsheim club, the player played 35 games across all competitions, creating 13 goals. Per FBRef, the German also completed the most crosses into the penalty area.
