Omar Marmoush: “I’m staying at Wolfsburg.”

Speaking to WAZ, Wolfsburg forward Omar Marmoush has dispelled any doubts regarding his future and has stated that he will remain at the Bundesliga club.

“I’m staying at Wolfsburg,” said Marmoush. The 23-year-old has entered the final year of his contract but Wolfsburg now want to extend the player’s contract beyond 2023.

Marmoush stated his intent following Wolfsburg’s 2-0 defeat against Bayern Munich on Sunday. This also comes after Premier League side Brentford submitted an offer for Marmoush, an approach that was blocked by Wolfsburg.

The Egypt international spent last season on loan at Stuttgart, scoring three and creating five across 21 games in all competitions. Since his return to Wolfsburg, Marmoush has started all three games, scoring in VfL’s 1-0 victory against Carl Zeiss Jena in the DFB Pokal.

Speaking earlier this year, Marmoush did state that he dreams of playing in the Premier League one day but for now, his future appears to be at Wolfsburg.
