Brentford make opening offer Omar Marmoush

With one-year remaining on his current deal, Premier League side Brentford have made an opening offer for 23-year-old Wolfsburg forward Omar Marmoush, according to Sky Germany.

The Egypt international spent last season on loan at Stuttgart and was involved in eight goals (three goals, five assists) in 21 Bundesliga games, as they secured their league status on the final day.

Returning to Wolfsburg, the Bundesliga club want to start the season with Marmoush but given their high number of attacking players, it’s likely that minutes will be hard to find at VfL – unless he impresses Niko Kovač in pre-season.

Although a concrete offer by Brentford has been made, their approach has been blocked by Wolfsburg. Although predominantly operating on the left-wing last season, the Egyptian has the ability to play across the front three, which could suit Thomas Frank’s Brentford.

This is certainly a transfer to keep an eye on. Speaking in April, Marmoush said that he dreams of playing in the Premier League one day.
