Official | Aurélio Buta joins Eintracht Frankfurt from Royal Antwerp

Defender Aurélio Buta (25) has signed for Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer from Royal Antwerp.

The Portuguese right-back has signed a contract which will keep him at Frankfurt until June 2026.

It was also reported that Frankfurt had been keeping an eye on Buta’s situation since the end of February.

Frankfurt sport director Markus Krösche said: “We trust Aurélio Buta with his skills and experience to become a permanent fixture in our team and to give our game even more power. His numerous goal participations speak for themselves. Aurélio combines speed and physicality as well as defensive reliability and offensive danger, so he brings a good overall package. We were able to convince ourselves of this in a direct duel. At the same time, we are convinced that at the age of 25 he will have further scope for development.”

Buta made 21 competitive appearances for Royal Antwerp in the past season and will take over from the outgoing Danny Da Costa who is believed to be moving to Mainz 05.
