Bild report tonight that the transfer of Ritsu Doan to Mainz from PSV could collapse.
This is because of a change in coach at the Dutch club. Ruud van Nistelrooy has taken charge after Roger Schmidt was appointed as Benfica manager.
Although an agreement had reportedly been reached with Doan, Mainz had yet to reach an agreement with PSV over a transfer fee. But now, Van Nistelrooy will assess his squad before making a decision.
Doan has Bundesliga experience with Arminia Bielefeld but returned to PSV last season, where he scored 11 and created three in 39 games in all competitions.
