Speaking to RTL after Borussia Dortmund’s 4-2 defeat against Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday evening, Mats Hummels slammed the defensive performance.
“If you look at the Bayer Leverkusen game, we conceded four goals after unnecessarily losing the ball,” said Hummels. “That happened with the first, second and fourth goals here. I think we know what our problem is, the coach mentions it often enough.
“We play an awful lot of nonsensical football. You can sometimes win that way but sometimes lose. You will never be successful that way.”
