Edin Terzic made some key decisions during winter which has improved his chances of staying in charge beyond the summer. According to Sky Germany, the 41-year-old promoted Nico Schlotterbeck, Marcel Sabitzer and Julian Ryerson to the team council, with their opinions holding a certain weight. The trio have been rewarded for their consistent performances in 2024.
Borussia Dortmund’s team council now comprises of captain Emre Can, Gregor Kobel, Julian Brandt, Schlotterbeck, Sabitzer and Ryerson, but that means, per Patrick Berger, that the opinions of Sébastien Haller, Niklas Süle and Marco Reus no longer carry the same weight.
Sky note that Terzic remaining at the club beyond the summer is not out of the question. Dortmund’s performance against Bayern Munich may hold some weight to Terzic remaining while their upcoming Champions League tie against Spanish giants Atletico Madrid also holds significant importance, and UCL qualification via the Bundesliga is a must.
