Manchester United & Liverpool among clubs monitoring Christoph Baumgartner

Hoffenheim attacking-midfielder Christoph Baumgartner would consider leaving the Bundesliga club this summer if he receives an attractive offer as he looks to take the next step in his career, according to Bild.

The 22-year-old has a reported release clause of around €30m and has a contract with TSG until 2025. A move away from the Bundesliga club is also fueled by the fact that his agent, Grass Is Green, has merged with Spanish agency, You First.

Sevilla and Atlético Madrid have both shown interest in signing Baumgartner, with the Austria international also on the radar of Liverpool and Manchester United.

It’s also worth mentioning that one of You First’s clients is Sevilla midfielder Óliver Torres, which is why the German outlet have named the Spanish side as a potential suitor.

Baumgartner scored seven and created one in 29 Bundesliga games for Hoffenheim last season and is currently valued at €22m by Transfermarkt. With the appointment of André Breitenreiter as head coach, it’s unclear as to where the Austrian’s future will be.
