Joshua Zirkzee to get a chance at Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich will give 21-year-old forward Joshua Zirkzee an opportunity to showcase his abilities in pre-season before making a decision on his future, according to Sport1.

The Dutchman scored 18 and created 13 whilst on loan at Anderlecht last season and has interest from Stuttgart and Ajax, should Saša Kalajdžić and Sébastien Haller leave respectively.

Whilst sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić wants to give Zirkzee another chance, the former Feyenoord youth player wants regular playing time, something that he may not achieve at Bayern Munich. That’s why a decision on his future remains difficult, even more so given the impending arrival of Sadio Mané from Liverpool with the Bundesliga side ready to submit a third offer.

Prior to playing for Anderlecht last season, Zirkzee spent the six months on loan at Parma but played just 108 minutes of football, failing to score a goal before playing 47 times for Anderlecht in 2021/22.

During his time at Bayern Munich, Zirkzee was a regular scorer in Bayern’s youth teams and scored four and created one in 413 minutes of first team football.
