Speaking at Saturday’s presser, Borussia Dortmund head coach Marco Rose has confirmed that Erling Haaland will miss their Bundesliga fixture against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Sunday.
“Erling Haaland is not an issue for the game against Gladbach,” said Rose. “Marius Wolf could become an option. Manuel Akanji is out for about three weeks with a tear in his calf and Thomas Meunier is not yet back in team training.”
As a result of Akanji’s absence, that means we could see Wolf return at right-back if he’s fit enough to start and will likely mean Dan-Axel Zagadou will partner Mats Hummels in central-defence.
It’s not yet known as to whether Haaland will be fit enough for the return leg vs Rangers on Thursday.
