Speaking to Bild, Borussia Dortmund Sporting Director Michael Zorc slammed the performance of the team following their 4-2 first-leg defeat to Rangers in the Europa League.
“I’m still shocked, I can’t find the words,” said Zorc. “It was an embarrassing performance. From the first minute to the last, an embarrassing performance. Thursday evening, floodlit game, light drizzle but not too cold, European Cup against a traditional club like Rangers, what more could you ask for? But the team wasn’t ready for this game. We played sluggishly, we didn’t raise the tempo. It was a performance to be ashamed of.”
BVB will play Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga on Sunday before heading to Scotland for the return leg at Ibrox.
