Erling Haaland set to join Manchester City

Sky Germany report this morning that 21-year-old Erling Haaland has informed Borussia Dortmund that he will leave the Bundesliga club in the summer.

Manchester City will pay the €75m exit clause in Haaland’s contract, which currently runs until 2024 and per the report, City CEO Ferran Soriano informed Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke last week that the Premier League side are ready to activate the Norwegian’s clause.

Manchester City will pay the full €75m in one installment with only the final details left to be clarified. After months of speculation, it’s likely that the announcement could be made official this week.

It was reported earlier by The Athletic that Haaland would announce his BVB departure this week.

Haaland has scored 85 goals in 88 competitive games for Borussia Dortmund since joining for €20m from RB Salzburg in January 2020.
