Dominique Heintz and Andreas Voglsammer set to leave Union Berlin

According to Bild, Union Berlin are continuing to thin out their squad with the departures of Dominique Heintz (28) and Andreas Voglsammer (30).

Heintz is set to leave for fellow Bundesliga side, Bochum. The defender only arrived in Berlin last winter from Freiburg but has struggled for playing time. Overall, Heintz only played nine competitive games for the Irons. He’ll be hoping for more time on the pitch under Thomas Reis at Bochum.

Forward Voglsammer is switching countries in order to seek more game time. It’s reported that the 30-year-old is set to move to Millwall in the Championship.

Voglsammer has been with Union since the summer of 2021 and played 46 competitive games for the club scoring on six occasions. Out of his 46 games, only nine of them were from the starting eleven.

Union Berlin have made another excellent start to the season defeating city rivals Hertha on the opening game. For players on the fringe of the squad, it’s going to be tough to break into the starting 11.
