Bayern Munich consider Christopher Nkunku transfer should Serge Gnabry leave

Bayern Munich are considering a move for RB Leipzig midfielder Christopher Nkunku should they fail to tie Serge Gnabry down to a contract extension, according to Sport1.

The 24-year-old has a contract with RB Leipzig until 2024 but is exploring his options. It would take a huge salary increase for Nkunku to remain in Leipzig beyond his current deal.

Per the report, Bayern Munich would need to pay around €70m to bring Nkunku to the Allianz Arena, a sum that could only be raised should Gnabry leave the club.

Further extension talks between Gnabry and Bayern’s hierarchy are planned but if they fail, the Germany international could leave at the end of the season with just 12 months remaining on his deal.
