United States federation want Germany U21 international Malik Tillman to represent them

The United States Football Association would like German U21 and Bayern Munich starlet Malik Tillman to represent them on the international stage.

The 19-year-old forward has featured four times in the Bundesliga and twice in the Champions League this season. However, the talented prospect has spent most of his time at Bayern II in the Regionalliga, scoring twice in nine matches.

Tillman was born in Nuremberg to an American father and German mother. The attacking midfielder has previously represented both nations at youth level but has most recently played for Germany’s U21s, scoring three goals in three matches.

During a press conference on Monday, Tillman admitted that: “It’s true that they got in touch with me.”

However, he concluded by saying: “I’m not here with the U21s for nothing. I feel good here and will continue to do so.

It’s obvious that both football associations see Tillman’s potential but it is still unclear which senior team he will represent on the world stage.
