Speaking ahead of Germany’s friendly against the Netherlands, head coach Hansi Flick stated that this meeting would be a good indicator as to where they are in terms of development.
“We go into every game to win but we have the necessary respect for our opponents,” said Flick. “The Dutch have a team that can play great football and they have some top players in their ranks. It will be a good indicator for us but out team also has a lot of quality.
“We want to try and put ourselves under pressure and force them to make mistakes, but we also want to play our own game. Every win gives you more confidence and that’s what we need.”
Flick confirmed that both Manuel Neuer and Antonio Rüdiger will both start.
