Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans Joachim Watzke raves about 15-year-old sensation Youssoufa Moukoko

Speaking in an interview with Sky Germany, Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans Joachim Watzke has praised the development of 15-year-old attacker Youssoufa Moukoko.

“It doesn’t matter whether you’re scoring three or four goals for the U19s, if you’re doing it regularly, you definitely have the goal gene,” said Watzke. “It’s ideal to have him [in the squad]. If Haaland needs a break, then maybe Favre will try out Youssoufa.”

Moukoko turns 16 on November 20th and will be able to play first team football for Borussia Dortmund, having trained with the first team since July. The DFL announced in April that they have adopted a new minimum age for players in the Bundesliga & 2. Bundesliga this season to 16.

The German youth international has scored 10 goals in three U19-Bundesliga West games for Borussia Dortmund this season and a further hat-trick in the DFB Pokal der Junioren.

Moukoko has already earned rave reviews from Haaland & Co. and is certainly one to watch over the coming years.
