Kevin Vogt the latest Covid-19 case at Hoffenheim; squad in quarantine

Bundesliga side Hoffenheim confirm that 29-year-old defender Kevin Vogt is the latest player to test positive for Covid-19 after testing on Wednesday afternoon.

Sebastian Rudy, Ishak Belfodil and a member of the coaching staff all tested positive for the virus earlier in the week with Robert Skov and Munas Dabbur tested positive whilst in the circle of their respective national teams, Denmark and Israel.

Jacob Bruun Larsen had tested positive on Friday whilst Andrej Kramarić and Kasim Adams have also recently had the virus.

As a result of the outbreak within the squad, Hoffenheim made the decision to place the whole squad in quarantine with no date set for a return to training. A date will be agreed upon after consultation with the responsible health department.

Hoffenheim lost 2-1 at Wolfsburg on Sunday afternoon making it five games without a win, whilst their next Bundesliga game is against Stuttgart on November 21 – whether or not that will go ahead remains to be seen.
