Augsburg reject €7.5m PSV bid for Philipp Max

Augsburg club boss Stefan Reuter has confirmed the Bundesliga club have rejected an offer for 26-year-old left-back Philipp Max.

“It’s correct that we have received an offer to buy Philipp Max. We are still in contact with the interested club however, we are still not close when it comes to the transfer fee,” said Reuter.

“After we received the offer, we immediately wanted to hold a meeting with the player. He informed us of his desire to leave.”

According to Bild, PSV Eindhoven submitted an offer of €7.5 million for Max, which was swiftly rejected by the Bundesliga club. Augsburg are holding out for a fee closer to €10m and if a club meets their asking price, it’s likely that Max will depart.
