VfB Stuttgart have appointed Pellegrino Matarazzo as their new head coach following the dismissal of Tim Walter, the club confirmed on Monday.
The 42-year-old joined Hoffenheim in 2017 and worked as an assistant to Julian Nagelsmann and then his successor, Alfred Schreuder.
Stuttgart sporting director Thomas Hitzlsperger said: “We proceeded with great care in the search for our new head coach and have had numerous intensive discussions in the past few days. In the end there was a clear vote for Pellegrino Matarazzo, who we warmly welcome to Stuttgart.”
